Crocodile Kills Boy, 4, Near El Cireulo, Mexico

The availability of a tourniquet could possibly have saved his life.

A four year old boy has been killed by a crocodile in Mexico when he dragged into lagoon waters on the coast of Oaxaca. According to the Civil Protection Office, this is the 7th crocodile attack in the region in the last 7 years. The location of the tragedy is a lagoon close to the town of El Cireulo in the municipality of Pinotepa Nacional. Locals canvased the area in an attempt to find the child body, but have not been able to locate the remains yet. Hurricane activity in the region is thought to contribute to the increase in crocodile activity. This is because it has forced many crocodiles to leave their natural habitats, and relocate to new wetlands. As a parent you must be vigilant and keep an eye on your children. Its also a good idea to carry or have a bleeding control kit nearby. The availability of a tourniquet could possibly save a life.
